Martin Luther King Jr

Civil disobedience is a form or method of protesting an unfair or cruel law by refusing to do it or, the refusal to comply with certain laws or to pay taxes and fines, as a peaceful form of political protest. Before today in the 20th century black people had to use separate water fountains, bathrooms, and they couldn’t sit in the front of the bus, they had limited rights, and were treated differently just because their skin was a different color.

One person is all it takes to make a difference and for the discriminated that person was Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929. Martin Luther King Jr may have started giving his speeches about civil rights on August 28, 1963, but he was motivated much before when he went to a shoe store and wouldn’t be served by the shoe clerk in the front. Martin graduated at Morehouse College with a Doctorates in Systematic Theology in 1948. 15 years later he gave his “I Have a Dream” speech was given on August 28, 1963 sparking the Civil Rights Movement. After he started a number of peaceful marches and protests with a result of him getting arrested 29 times. In 1964 segregation was ended nationwide meaning that nobody could be discriminated based on race, color, religion, sex or national origin. One year later in 1965 racial discrimination in voting was ended.
